Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Tribooks ("we", "our", or "us") governing your use of the Tribooks application and services on web, iOS, and Android (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Tribooks lets you upload ebooks and audiobooks you already own the rights to, and syncs your reading position across ebook, audiobook, and (via camera scanning) physical book formats. Tribooks also offers a curated shop of public-domain and rights-cleared titles, and optional AI narration that turns eligible ebooks into read-along audio.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Tribooks.

You may delete your account at any time from the app's account settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data and uploaded content as described in our Privacy Policy.

User Content and Copyright

You are solely responsible for the ebooks, audiobooks, and other files you upload ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you represent that you own it or otherwise have the legal right to use, upload, and process it through the Service.

Tribooks does not permit uploading content you don't have the rights to use. We respond to valid copyright infringement notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To report suspected infringement, contact us at the address below.

AI Narration

Tribooks may offer an optional AI narration feature that generates synthetic speech from an ebook file already in your library and aligns that audio to the text for read-along listening. Narration uses synthetic (computer-generated) voices only. It is not a human-narrated audiobook and is not a substitute for a commercially licensed audiobook from a publisher or retailer.

For public-domain or other rights-cleared shop titles, we may generate a single narration for that title and make it available to users who have that title in their library. For books you upload yourself, generated narration is for your personal use within your Tribooks library and is not a license to redistribute the audio outside the Service.

By requesting AI narration, you represent that you own the ebook file or otherwise have the legal right to have it narrated for your personal use (or, for shop titles, that you are using the title as offered through Tribooks). You agree not to use AI narration to infringe any third party's copyright, contract, or other rights, and not to request or attempt to clone or mimic a real person's voice.

We label AI-generated narration as such in the product. Quality, pacing, and pronunciation may vary; we do not warrant that narration will be error-free or suitable for every title.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Tribooks offers optional auto-renewing subscription plans and one-time "Book Credit" purchases that unlock additional features, storage, or processing capacity. The exact Book Credit price is shown before processing; Studio narration and file synchronization normally use one, while Immersive Cast normally uses two. Exceptionally long books may use more.

Billing and renewal. If you subscribe through the Apple App Store: payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase; subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price; you can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) — any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

If you subscribe through Google Play or on the web, equivalent auto-renewal terms apply, and subscriptions can be managed or canceled through Google Play or your Tribooks account settings, respectively.

Purchases and subscriptions are generally non-refundable except where required by law or by the policies of the platform (Apple, Google) you purchased through.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the legal right to use
• Use the Service to infringe on any third party's intellectual property or other rights
• Attempt to clone, mimic, or reproduce a real person's voice through the Service
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related or other features of the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, that audiobook-to-ebook synchronization will be perfectly accurate for every title, or that AI narration will be accurate, natural, or free of mispronunciations. AI narration is not a licensed commercial audiobook for redistribution outside the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tribooks will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Tribooks operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
